BIOCOVERS® is UV stable; therefore it is not necessary to protect the fabric from sunlight. Wood chips and bark contain a high carbon/nitrogen ratio. Microorganisms need nitrogen to break down the bark, leading to a temporary nitrogen shortage for the plants which can lead to growth retardation.
Moreover airborne seeds can anchor and develop on the wood chips/bark creating weed development on top of the bark layer. Bark or wood chips or an unnecessary cost!
