Thanks to the European project Life+ larger pilot sites have been realised all over Europe. Comparative studies helped us to evaluate the existing synthetic and natural fibre products and the new PLA-biofibre mats.
The landscaping, geotextile, green roof, packaging and hydroponic market continuously study how to replace existing non biobased PP/PET/PA/PE mats by biobased PLA mats. Also natural fibre mats are more and more replaced by lighter, growth neutral and stronger biobased mats.
